How to vectorize a logo
A clean source and the right colour count make a bigger difference than aggressive smoothing.
Start with the best source available
Use the original PNG or JPG export if possible. A small social-media image or repeatedly compressed JPG contains less reliable edge information.
- Crop unnecessary space around the logo.
- Keep transparency when the artwork already has it.
- Do not enlarge a small raster before tracing it.
Match the intended palette
Count the deliberate colours in the logo, including the background if you want to preserve it. Setting too many colours can turn anti-aliased edge pixels into unwanted extra shapes.
Convert and inspect
Upload the image, start with Auto mode, set the maximum colours and click Vectorize. Compare the original and vector at high zoom.
- Check curved letters and enclosed holes.
- Look for isolated specks or edge halos.
- Confirm small symbols remain recognisable.
- Download and test the SVG in your preferred editor.
Try it with your own artworkConvert locally in your browser and inspect the SVG before downloading.
